The Detroit Boat Club offers a wide variety of activities, including:
Sailing/Boating: The DBC's club-owned sailboats (Flying Scots) are available for recreational use by any certified member. Sailing lessons are available for members who wish to learn to sail. A Rendezvous is held each year in July for members and guests.
Racing: Each year, the DBC hosts a Detroit River Yachting Association-sanctioned regatta on Lake Saint Clair. This rich history continues in 2023 as the DBC conducts its 129th Annual Sailing Regatta on Saturday, June 25th. The DBC Regatta, which is open to all sailors in the Detroit area, attracts over 100 boats in 15 classes, ranging in size from 19' to 55'. DBC sailors represent the Club in DRYA and other regattas on Lake St. Clair as well as other races around the country.
Rowing: The DBC enjoys a special relationship with the Friends of Detroit Rowing, whose members row under the Detroit Boat Club burgee as the “Detroit Boat Club Crew.”
Social: Each month the DBC hosts a Dinner at some of the most beautiful private clubs throughout the Detroit metropolitan area. Other Extra Events include theater performances, museum trips, tours, golf outings, and similar entertainments.
Committees: The DBC offers a number of ways to get involved and meet other members. The Club’s Committees include: Annual Meeting, Annual Rendezvous, Board of Directors, Commodore's Brunch, DBC Store, Dinner of the Month, Extra Events, Membership, Nominating, Regatta Party, Regatta Race, and Sailing Class Management and Instructors.
